Golden Retriever owner story: Pat and her Golden, Molly

I could talk about Molly forever, but here are some things to know about Golden Retrievers if you are thinking of adopting one into your family.

These are gorgeous dogs without even a hint of aggression. At least my Molly is like that. They are your best friend, your emotional support animal, your partner in crime and everything else and more. This is a very smart dog, and once they grow older, they also become very calm and relaxed.

They are easy to train and are a treat to be around. They will never snap or God Forbid bite anyone, even if it’s a pestering child.

This is quite a large dog, but, due to its mild and accommodating personality, they are never a bother. Molly knows her place and when she sees we are busy she will just leave us alone for a while and go do her own things on her bed. They are not clingy and won’t be bothering you like some needy breeds of dogs tend to do.

Some issues with Molly include her constant desire to jump in my bed with me and wake me up in the morning by jumping into my bed, even though she knows she’s not allowed to do it.

Also, they do require lots of grooming, which includes brushing and bathing regularly.

Overall, she is absolute dream come true and we love her with all our hearts.
