Golden Retriever breed review: Sky and his owner Molly
My Golden Retriever Sky is 9 months old, and he is still a pesky little pain in the bum, to be honest 🙂 Don’t get me wrong, I love him to the moon and back. But he keeps running away if I set him off the leash. I guess he’s still very young so maybe that’s his excuse. He just gets overly excited, especially if he sees another dog. He’ll run away and it’s like he doesn’t even know his name. Then I have to look for him all over the place. I think all Goldens may be like this when they are young. At least I hope it isn’t just ours that’s crazy.
He’s very curious too, he needs to check out everything and everyone. Sometimes he pays for it. Our neighbor’s cat has hissed on him and even slapped him many times for his curiosity. Sky is too friendly to really respond, he usually just looks very surprised at an offender and retreats.
He is very, very friendly towards just about everyone. I have never seen a friendlier dog. He loves everyone around him, especially children.
Sky is also pretty healthy: we have never had any allergies or any health issues at all really. I am very happy about that: we used to have a Cocker Spaniel and he had so many health issues!
All in all, I love our Golden and would definitely recommend Golden Retrievers as a wonderful family pet and companion.
